Privacy Policy

We respect the people who visit and contribute to the Henry Hatter Living Legacy. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information.

Information we collect

We collect account information when you sign in; content you voluntarily submit; private contact details used only for moderation; and limited usage information such as page visits, section views, media activity, shares, device category, and return visits. We do not intentionally store raw IP addresses in activity reports.

How information is used

Information is used to operate and secure the site, authenticate accounts, review family and community connections, moderate the guestbook, remember viewing progress, understand site use, and improve accessibility and performance.

Family and friend submissions

A connection request requires a signed-in account. Submission does not guarantee publication. Administrators may verify, edit with care, reject, unpublish, or remove a connection when it cannot be reasonably confirmed, violates these terms, presents privacy or safety concerns, or is reported by the person represented.

Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell personal information. We disclose information only to service providers needed to operate the site, when a person asks us to, to protect rights or safety, or when required by valid legal process.

Retention and choices

Approved public contributions may remain part of the living archive. Pending, rejected, account, progress, and activity records are retained only as reasonably needed for moderation, security, continuity, and reporting. You may request access, correction, or removal through the site administrator. Browser controls can clear local viewing progress.

Security and children

We use access controls and restricted administration, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. The site is not directed to children under 13, and children should not submit personal information without a parent or guardian.

U.S. privacy rights

Depending on where you live, applicable law may provide rights to know, access, correct, delete, or limit certain uses of personal information and to appeal a denied request. We will honor applicable requests and will not discriminate for exercising privacy rights.

Changes and contact

This policy may be updated as the site evolves. Material changes will be reflected by a revised effective date. Contact the site administrator through the authenticated account area for privacy requests.

This plain-language policy provides general baseline terms and is not legal advice. Local counsel should review it for the organization’s location and specific operations.
